There is a lovely, friendly pub just across the road serving delicious food and the 'Lockside' cafe for cake and a cuppa or lunch, a stone's throw away on the canal. All in all a perfect place for a holiday! |

| Comments: | This was an amazing site. We stayed here because of the proximity of the canal, for cycling, and it couldn’t have been handier. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The facilities were spotless and we never had to queue for access. Security on the site was a high priority and we felt very secure throughout our stay. Despite being near a busy main road we were not disturbed by road noise at all. We highly recommend the pub/ restaurant opposite, The Horse and Jockey. Lovely ambiance, the staff were very helpful, the prices reasonable and the food amazing. We would have stayed much longer but the site was fully booked. We will be sure to revisit on a future trip and book early! The canal paths are superb for walking and cycling and there are treasures to be found...such as the Honesty Shop just near the campsite and beautifully decorated barges along the way. What we saw of the site, was very good, well laid out, clean facilities, and really handy for getting on to the canal for walking. The owners of the site were very pleasant and nothing seem to be of any trouble for them. We shall definitely visit again next year. |

| Comments: | We stayed in September 2018. From first contact until we left we found a really friendly responce from the site owners. There are rules which are strictly enforced which is excellent as all visitors know where they stand from the outset. This was our first adult only site and we now know what we will be looking for in the future. Peace and quiet of this site and security measures are excellent. Facilities are good and with the horse and jockey across the road and the little spar shop and garage outside the gate make good sales point for site. We also frequented the lock cafe nice food very friendly and lovely entertainment from the cafe dog and the boats passing through. Also we found Sainsbury’s cafe useful for lighter breakfast and evening meals with cafe staying open till 8 pm very useful after a day out. | Comments: | Just returned from a week's stay at this loveley caravan park. The site is well run by owners Denise and Trevor. Toilet facilities including showers were very good, always clean.it was obvious that the toilet facilities were checked throughout the day. The site has an excellent dog walk! Apart from some road noise very peaceful and relaxing. Denise and Trevor were always on hand to deal with any issues. Site is next to Canal, a beautiful walk in either direction. There is a local pub opposite the site and a garage with small shop.Thank you Denise and Trevor for making our stay a pleasant experience. We shall recommend your site. A very interesting area with many places to visit. |

| Comments: | This is our second year at Canalside I came in March 2007 and decided that you could not get much better from a caravan site, I store my caravan here now and stay at the site every other weekend and bank holidays.Who needs to go anywhere else? All the site facilities are first class with good hot showers,spottless toilets with piped music.The pitches are great with plenty of room and the fields are well kept.Joan, Trevor and Denise are always kind, pleasant and very helpfull nothing is to much trouble.
